Skill Token — The Riders‘ In-Game Cryptocurrency
SKILL is the native in-game currency of Avalanche Riders, what you “earn” in the Play-to-Earn so to say. Your Riders can earn SKILL in training and you can spend it to directly upgrade your Riders’ stats (see Stats and Properties section) or to mint new Riders. New SKILL is minted on the following occasions:
- When players send their Rider to the Gym (i.e. staking their Rider NFTs), they will be rewarded with SKILL.
- When players train new tricks in the Snow Park, they will be rewarded with SKILL even if they fail the tricks.
- There is an additional bonus of newly minted SKILL if a Rider has mastered a new trick.
There will be an unlimited supply of SKILL since new tokens will be minted everytime players get their rewards. However the SKILL spent by players when they upgrade their Riders or mint a new one will be burnt immediately. This burning mechanism can be fine-tuned so that it is strong enough to work against the inflationary minting mechanism, ensuring a stable value of the SKILL token.
